01. Regulatory Responsibilities
Technical Regulation
- Ensure highest degree of safety, secure and adequate air transport service to the public.
- Register all civil aircraft, issue marks, and airworthiness certificates.
- Specify type of service for which aircraft may be used.
- Audit, inspect, license, and regulate all aerodromes and navigation facilities.
Economic & Air Transport
- Promote and maintain efficient air transport and general aviation in the country.
- License and regulate air transport and general aviation services.
- Determine conditions for transport of passengers, goods, and mail.
- Represent the Ethiopian government in bilateral-air transport agreements.
02. Service Delivery Responsibilities
Identify air routes and determine admission/departure conditions for territory.
Provide communications, navigation, surveillance, and air traffic management.
Provide flight information and refreshments service to the pilots.
