  • Issuing NOTAMs, Circulars, AIP Supplement Monthly NOTAM summaries and check lists.
  • Publications of Aeronautical Information of a permanent character in the form an AIP and periodic amendment of same.
  • Receiving information from other sources and disseminate them to offices appropriately
  • Preparation of pre-flight information bulletins for pilot briefings.
  • Keeping AIPs of other countries current by processing their amendments duly.
  • Maintain a condusive environment to facilitate the navigation planning of pilots. (Plotting table, wall chart etc.)
  • Receiving flight plans, checking their proper entries and forwarding to Com. Operations and ATS on time
  • Plan so as to fully automate the service locally and in accordance with the regional requirements
Aeronautical Information Management The Role of AIM is to ensure the timely flow of Aeronautical Information necessary for the Safety, Regularity and Efficiency of National/International Air Navigation. AIS collects, collates, assembles, edits, formats, originates, publishes and distributes Aeronautical Information/ Data necessary for Safety, Regularity and Efficiency of Air Navigation concerning the entire Addis Flight Information Region (FIR).
    Services offered:-
  • NOTAM (Notices to Airmen) – The International NOTAM Office (NOF) is responsible for the promulgation of NOTAM and facilitates the international exchange of NOTAM. Access to NOTAM can be given to interested parties upon submitting a request by email: aimethiopia@ecaa.gov.et or ais.ethiopia@gmil.com
  • Flight planning and Briefing Service – Provided at the AIS aerodrome unit to facilitate flight plan management and pre-flight briefing services at the airports manned by ECAA.
  • Access to the aim system for flight planning and briefing can be given to interested parties upon submitting a request by email: aimethiopia@ecaa.gov.et or ais.ethiopia@gmail.com
  • Aeronautical Information products – AIM Headquarters is responsible for collection, collation, compilation, processing and dissemination of aeronautical data through regular updates to the AIP and issuance of AIP Supplements, Aeronautical Information Circulars (AIC) and Lists of Valid NOTAM. Interested parties can request AIP in CD and/or email by filling Order Form for Subscription of Aeronautical Information Products form ( attached.) and send to the following email: aimethiopia@ecaa.gov.et or ais.ethiopia@gmail.com
