Authorized Flight Examiners

A flight examiner shall hold :—

  1. A license and rating for which he is authorized to conduct skill tests or proficiency checks; and
  2. Appropriate flight instructor ratings for skill tests.

To qualify for a flight examiner’s authorisation, a pilot shall have logged 1000 hours of flight time and 200 hours providing flight instruction.

The ground, flight and synthetic flight training for examiner shall include the subjects listed in regulation 73.

To qualify for a flight examiner’s authorisation, a pilot shall have conducted at least one skill test under the observation by the Authority, in the role of an examiner for which authorization is sought, including briefing, conduct of the skill test, assessment of the applicant to whom the skill test is given, debriefing and recording or documentation.
